Powder Coating Line in Bulgaria

Project Background:

In 2025, ZHYAO delivered a fully automated powder coating line for a new energy facility in Bulgaria. The line is designed for DC fast chargers, AC pillars, and supporting sheet metal enclosures. It complies with EU EN ISO 9227 standards and RoHS directives, ensuring outdoor IP54 protection and long-term weather resistance.

Client Pain Points:

The customer required a solution that could:

Protect EV charging equipment against corrosion while maintaining a high-quality appearance

Ensure uniform coating on enclosures ranging from 600–1,200 mm wide, with single hook loads up to 80 kg

Minimize powder waste and support fast color changes

Comply with local environmental regulations for dust and VOC emissions

The line was tailored with the following features:

Loading System: Accumulation-type heavy-duty chain, single hook capacity 80 kg, compatible with 600–1,200 mm wide enclosures

Pre-treatment: Spray degreasing + phosphating + DI water rinse, with online conductivity monitoring to ensure surface preparation quality

Powder Coating: Six-axis reciprocating robots + large cyclone powder booth, powder recovery ≥ 95%, supports quick color changes

Curing: Natural gas direct-fired oven with controlled temperature zones, temperature difference ≤ 3 °C, energy-efficient design

Inspection: Online film thickness monitoring + AI visual defect detection to ensure coating uniformity

Performance:

The line produces coatings that meet the required adhesion, weather resistance, and finish quality for outdoor EV charging equipment. Dust and VOC emissions comply with Bulgarian regulations. The line operates continuously and stably, serving as a benchmark for ZHYAO in the Central and Eastern European new energy infrastructure sector.
